What’s the big idea behind Good Pitch? This page on the BRITDOC site gives you the lowdown.

Press release from BRITDOC:

Good Pitch Europe 2015 will be held on March 25th in Oslo, Norway, and BRITDOC is calling out to European filmmakers working on social and environmental justice film projects to apply.

Good Pitch brings together outstanding documentary filmmakers with foundations, NGOs, campaigners, philanthropists, policymakers, brands and media around leading social and environmental issues — to forge coalitions and campaigns that are good for all these partners, good for films and good for society. A group of European filmmaking teams will pitch their documentary projects and associated impact campaign with the aim of creating a unique coalition around each film to accelerate its impact and influence.

We are looking for projects that both corporate and non-profit partners can collaborate on: films which tell great stories that, directly or indirectly, raise important contemporary global and national subjects and enhance our understanding of our world.

You can only apply for Good Pitch if you already have outreach or audience engagement plans for your film. Your impact campaign can take any form, with any ultimate goal — it could seek to effect behavioural change, policy change and/or engage with the issues raised in new and interesting ways.

Projects can be at any stage from early production to completion and even early festival circuit (although rough cut stage is ideal), and they should be 60+ minutes in length (although we welcome plans to make shorter versions).

You will need to upload a trailer or sample reel and a 2-minute video of yourself telling us why you want to make the film and the change you think it can affect.

If selected, film pitch teams must be available to be in Finland from 7-11 January 2015 inclusive for the Impact Producers Lab and part 1 of the Campaign Development Workshop and then in from 21-25 March 2015 inclusive in Oslo, Norway for part 2 of the workshop, pre-strategic meetings as well as the pitch day itself.

There is no fee for applying or for taking part.
