Support for international freedom of expression organisations

The list of the Fritt Ord Foundation's grants for more than NOK 100 000 awarded in December 2017 has now been published.

Among the 74 recipients on the list, we find grants for two international freedom of expression organisations. The International Cities of Refuge Network (ICORN), based in Stavanger, received NOK 400 000 for its work in 2018. Seventy cities are now part of the ICORN network, which gives refuge to persecuted authors and artists.

The amount of NOK 400 000 was allocated to Freemuse for its work with the State of Artistic Freedom Report 2018. Freemuse (or Freedom of Musical Expression) is a Copenhagen-based organisation that works to promote and protect artistic freedom of expression the world over.
